Do I need root access?

No. Whitelist-Warden runs in your own cPanel/shell account. The shell toolkit needs SSH or cron access to a host you control; the companion WordPress plugin runs inside WordPress.

Does it replace Cloudflare or Wordfence?

No — it works with them. Whitelist-Warden feeds your Cloudflare WAF and Wordfence allowlists, and can pull Wordfence blocks back into its own banlist. Think of it as the bouncer, not the whole wall.

Will it block my real visitors or Google?

It is built to minimise false positives: trusted IPs, DDNS hostnames, and your CDN's published edge ranges are kept on a dynamic whitelist so they are never banned. During beta we tune the threat thresholds to keep legitimate crawlers out of the net.
